Quick start

New to Miseria? Follow this loop before your first Reborn.

  1. 1

    Unlock the Blacksmith for real

Push early floors until you can keep forging gear every run. Permanent Blacksmith access via the Church is the first prestige unlock that stops the town from feeling reset-broken.

  2. 2

    Treat gold as forge fuel

Let auto combat farm monsters, then spend gold at the blacksmith instead of hoarding it. Stronger weapons and armor raise clear speed more than sitting on a shiny purse.

  3. 3

    Take your first meaningful Reborn

When floor clears slow down, Reborn for Dark Blessings. You lose XP, gold, and depth, but Church purchases stay—so prestige when the next unlock beats clinging to the current pile.

  4. 4

    Buy Spikes, magnet, then auto-descend

In the Church, prioritise Spikes/thorns and gold magnet (then auto-collect) after Blacksmith permanence. Once survivability is stable, enable auto-descend so farm floors become honest AFK progress.

  5. 5

Recruit the Alchemist and aim for the end

Get the Strange Plant, lock Alchemist permanence and start-of-run XP, then follow How to Complete and the Achievements guide for The End of the Journey and Steam 100%.
